Hills walked:
Great Mell Fell (Wainwright, Birkett, Marilyn, Dodd, Dewey, HuMP, Clem, Fellranger, Synge, and Tump)
Date started:27/07/2024
Distance:4.7 km or 2.9 miles
Ascent:314m or 1030ft
Descent:314m or 1030ft
Start OSGB:NY407246
Time taken:2:17
Naismith:1:28

After a wet morning the rain stopped so we were able to make a quick(ish) jaunt up Great Mell Fell. The ascent was OK with some good views from the top of various weather conditions on the surrounding fells.

In my infinite wisdom I declared that doing a straight out and back was 'boring' so we made it a bit of a circular that involved a very steep descent on the path to the West of the summit and then a soaking wet return through head high bracken. Didn't see the ponies.
