Hi Paul / Beth,
I just logged in to use the GPS mapping section and noticed that the small menu "toolbar" for 3D viewing was missing.
Presently, on the GPS Mapping page, there seems to be no on screen controls whatsoever for 3D viewing of maps (either in map view or aerial view).
I don't think it's a browser issue - I normally use Internet Explorer 11, but have just tried logging in again using Google Chrome with the same result.
I have cleared all cache settings and cookies etc. and confirm that I have not changed any of my standard computer settings at all.
It was several months ago that I last used 3D view, so I don't know how long 3D view has been missing.
Regards,
Mike.
EDIT
Oooops!!! - I was trying to view the maps in 3D before loading the track I had walked
3D viewing controls are available as usual once an uploaded GPX track of a walk has been loaded.
For some reason, I was thinking that previously, 3D view was available when purely looking at a map or aerial view (with no GPX track loaded).
Neither of us remember there ever being a menu toolbar for 3D viewing in the GPS mapping app however if you're a supporter and you're logged in then there is a link you can click to "View in 3D". That's show bottom right in the "Your Track" or "Your Route" box.
Are you not seeing that?
Hi Paul,
Yes,
As mentioned in my EDIT to the original post, after posting, I subsequently realised my mistake, in that I was trying to see 3D-views before loading a suitable "uploaded" GPX track.
Once such a track is loaded, I do see the "View in 3D" link in the small "Your Track" details box which appears.
The "Toolbar" that I was looking for, and which I had erroneously assumed was missing, is this one: -
which doesn't appear until after clicking on the "View in 3D link".
It had been so long since I last used the 3D facility, I had thought, (wrongly), that this small toolbar/menu should have been visible (or available as a drop-down menu), directly from the main GPX map page. (i.e. before loading a suitable GPX track). Once I realised my error, I added the EDIT to the original post.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Regards,
Mike.
